LAMJUNG: A local mothers group has distributed water filters, free of cost, to 17 households in Madhya Nepal Municipality-3 in Lamjung district on Wednesday.
According to Sangita Sankhi, chairperson of the Healthy Mothers Group based in Suryapal, water filters were bought after the money allocated by the group for excursions was invested to purchase the filters under the village cleanliness campaign.
Ward Chair of Madhya Nepal-3 Netra Bahadur Basnet distributed the filters during a programme, which was also attended by District Hygiene Officer of USAID-funded SUAAHARA project, Roshan Chaulagain and SUAAHARA Field Supervisor, Raghunath Adhikari.
After awareness programmes started being organised in the district, mothers groups have started becoming apprised of various health-related issues.
